Again, this is feeling as if it was written by someone who read the books, but has never really known the characters. As is mentioned in the product description, this is a facsimile reprint of an 1882 edition. The first thing he tells Henry is, "When you were small you used to have a pet ant and you would take him out for walks on a leash". No regrets with this book though. This period of his life is mentioned in William Brinkley's bestselling novel Don't Go Near the Water. From a patient's-eye-view, readers get to see what doctors fail to show-a glimpse into the nitty-gritty beyond the procedures. The real meat of this book lies in the various introductions, appendices, and afterwords where Michael Innes and his most famous character are discussed by those who loved them best.
